Laidback Cyprus
We each have our own way of relaxing and de-stressing. While some want it extravagant, others prefer the laidback type where they can be entertained without exerting so much effort.
This month, we present you one of these relaxing getaways—Cyprus.
Conquered by the Romans during the Bronze Age, Cyprus fell under the rule of many conquerors through the ages, while still remaining strong and defiant until its independence in 1960. From then, the country has proven to be one of the world’s up-and-coming nations with cultural and natural wonders to boast.
Start your tranquil retreat by booking a room in one of the many hotels near the Larnaca and Limassol marina. They offer the best views around the country, and not to mention, stand at a close proximity to numerous shops and restaurants. Spend your day swimming, sunbathing, and trying water activities in the country’s many beaches, most especially in the islands of Protaras and Kyrenia. Better yet, aboard a cruise ship and view the country from the waters of the Mediterranean.
Get to know Cyprus better by taking the time to walk inside its many ruins. Among the most frequently visited are those found in the city of Paphos and Kourion. There, one can find ancient Roman theaters, bath houses, castles, and a whole lot more. While adventure seekers can have a field day surveying the cliffs and caves of Cape Greco, the more religious can have a serene day inside the Church of Saint Lazarus located in Larnaca City.
With less than two months left until 2016 comes to a close, it’s easy to say that the whole year’s worth of stress are creeping up on all of us. Now is the time to take that leave and enjoy a relaxing vacation before the rush of the yuletide season.
