Beating the Summer
Summer is always the best time to get your dose of vitamin ‘sea’.
However, with the rays of the sun scorching the skin after spending just a brief moment outdoors, everyone considers escaping the summer heat as the main objective this season. No need to fret though as LaIsla offers a variety of ways to keep you cool while you travel. This month, we take you to Sweden, where you can enjoy some invigorating weather—minus the freezing temperature.
At the top of our list is Stockholm, the country’s capital and the most populated area in Scandinavia. Many historical records say that the city’s name comes from the words stock meaning log and holm meaning islet.
Always a first stop is the central train station, considered the largest railway station in the country and the hub of many land transportations bringing tourists to the different areas of the metropolis. Step back in time and visit Gamla Stan, Sweden’s old town, made up of several islands connected by bridges.
Castles, cathedrals, and museums are waiting for you. Learn more about Sweden’s history in the Stockholm City Museum where many antiquated documents and masterpieces are exhibited as well as display the country’s very own model of the solar system. And lastly, interact with the locals, buy souvenirs, and dine in the various restaurants at the town square.
While summer may be unpleasant because of the blistering heat, many recreational activities can still be done and turn out to be much more interesting than staying in the beach. Beat the summer heat by visiting the country with many attractions: Sweden.
