Aside from being a long part of the Roman City, the region experienced its Golden Age during the second millennium when Margrave Hugo chose to settle in Florence instead of Lucca. Further, the metropolis is also known for being the home of Renaissance and the “Athens of the Middle Ages.”
Join the throng of tourists as they roam around the Piazza Della Signoria where majestic edifices like the Palazzo Vecchio, Tribunale Della Mercanzia, Palazzo delle Assicurazion Generali, and the Palazzo Uguccioni are situated. Also, enter the grand Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore also known as The Duomo and its nearby attraction, the Giotto’s Campanile and the Baptistery of Saint John. These three edifices have long been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its historical significance.
