12 Days of Bahamas
The holidays have come, but we continue to uphold La Isla’s purpose: a straight-forward mission to show first-time travelers why a certain country stands out—an aim that we devotedly pursue from the first month ‘till the end of every year.
For that reason alone, we travel to the Bahamas Islands and spend 12 days of a well-deserved Christmas vacation you will surely love.
Bahamas, officially known as the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, sits in the Atlantic Ocean. Consisting of more than 700 islands, its largest and capital city is Nassau, formerly known as Charles Town before it was renamed in 1695. The country’s name was derived from the Spanish word baja mar (or shallow water) due to a frequent occurrence of low tides in the area. Along with its motto, “Forward, Upward, Onward, Together”, Bahamas is considered today as one of the richest countries in the Caribbean.
Start counting the days to Christmas as you hop from landmark to landmark in the city of Nassau. Dropping off from the harbour, one can easily see the yellow tower of downtown Nassau. The edifice serves as the starting point of many travelers as it is a few distances away from shopping centres and commercial buildings. Also an interesting find in the city is the Ghost Town, depicting how a tragedy can transform an entrancing seaside attraction.
However, if you’re one of those who just love spending time in the beach during vacations, the country is the best choice for you. Filled with never ending water sceneries, Bahamas has a lot of white beaches and pristine waters to offer, starting from the Abacos Island (where the Treasure Cay Beach is found) to the Grand Bahamas Island (where the Gold Rock Beach is situated). The area also offers different water taxi rides. Also a must see is the famous Cape Santa Maria Beach on Long Island.
As the famous song says, there are 12 days of Christmas. What if these 12 days are spent in the Islands of the Bahamas? The answer is all up to you. Embark on a special quest of exploring new grounds where all your journeys are discoveries and all your adventures are memories worth experiencing.
Have a Merry Christmas to all of you and may all your wishes come true.
