Surfer’s Paradise
Bask in the heat of the sun and behold the epic waves of the Island of Baler.
Nestled in between the sky-high peaks of Sierra Madre and the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, Baler has been considered as an island adventure with the huge waves crashing on the coastline. It’s also a haven for nature lovers with its beautiful rock formations and waterfalls. Away from the usual tourist attractions, Baler has taken its own identity as a laidback adventurer’s Eden.
Five hours away from Manila, the island abounds with several inns for basic accommodation. But if you are looking for a feel good, luxurious getaway at reasonable prices, Costa Pacifica is the perfect oasis for you. Part of the Raintree Hospitality Group, Costa Pacifica is a perfect mix of the natural and modern. Vice President of The Raintree Group Andrej Wisniewski describes it as “barefoot luxury”—a perfect marriage of indulgence and freedom.
The picturesque scene that greeted us was enough to make us forget the bumpy ride to Baler. The glorious view of the Sierra Madre mountain range was nothing compared to photos we’ve seen of it. We were very much excited to see Sabang beach, where Costa Pacifica is situated. And we were certainly not disappointed as we were welcomed with a crisp, cool breeze and fresh lychee coconut shakes (which we kept on coming back for!) Costa Pacifica is a sight to behold; it exudes fresh sensibilities with immaculate white walls accented with cool shades of blue and green via its interiors. We were then led to The Beach House where we savored a mouthwatering fare, which are distinctly Baler. The resort also prides itself with its menu that is tastefully infused with Hawaiian, Californian and Balinese flavors.
Meanwhile, our room was homey yet elegant, seen even in the smallest details. Complemented by light shaded wood and leaf-like and floral designs, each of the 106 rooms features basic hotel amenities and complimentary WiFi access to all guests. After a quick nap, we changed into our beach wear soon as we heard the music coming from the bar. We ordered cocktails and lounged by and in the infinity pool while watching the romantic sunset.
With rates as reasonable as P4850, Costa Pacifica’s accommodations are affordable. The resort also takes pride in its excellent service. So whether you’re looking for a chill vacation or an outdoor adventure, Baler is the perfect haven for you.
