Traveling makes it happen
The rainy season is not over but the time for Christmas trees and Santa Claus has come so pack your bags and be ready because this Yuletide season, we will fulfill your Christmas vacation wish list by bringing you to Seoul, the heart of South Korea’s commercial, industrial and cultural center.
Lying along the Han River in the Northwest corner, Seoul is considered as the largest city of South Korea. It was established as the capital city on 1394 by King Taejo the founder of the Yi Dynasty. Like any other nations, the residents of the city endured political restraint, economic imposition and social and educational discrimination by the Japanese who occupied the city until 1945. But, as unfortunate their history might be, this did not hinder the Koreans from prospering and improving their country, which lead it to becoming one of the world’s largest and most developed metropolitan areas.
Always on top of the list is the Han River or also known as the Hangang River with its 12 major parks located along the riverbanks. Cross this vast body of water and have fun with its different attractions and activities. Visit the National Assembly Building, the seat of South Korea’s Government, and be dazzled by its large blue dome, 24 granite columns and white exterior. Feel the Korean past as you enter the Palace of Gyeonbokgung and walk its many pavilions, gates, halls and cloisters.
Travel on foot through modernity in the Gangnam Distict and shop at Myeong-dong, the busiest shopping district in Seoul but don’t ever forget to enter the N Tower and the 63 Building in Seoul. Be a child again at the Lotte World Amusement Park and try the different rides that the place offers. Witness Cheonggyecheon Stream as it displays a laser show during night. And as the day ends, gaze at the beautiful panoramic view of Namsan Mountain and the downtown Seoul through a cable car and at the Bongeunsa Temple respectively.
Christmas season is the time for gift giving not only to others but to you as well. It is the time when you can buy anything you want and be anywhere you want to be without the guilt of spending too much or leaving too much work behind. So if you’re one of those people who wants to go out of town and spend Christmas somewhere else, feel free to enjoy your vacation in South Korea and start crossing out things on your wish list because, honestly, the things we want can happen through traveling.
