Hello, December
We’re down to the last month of the year.
Have you checked off some places on your bucket list? Are you ready to end the year? Why not make your way through New Orleans and end the year right with a blast for your Yuletide escape.
Traverse the historical streets of New Orleans, the thriving metropolis that lies along the Mississippi River, and discover sites worth seeing. The city was named after Regent Philippe II who was known as the Duke of Orleans at the time. Some of the city’s attractions include the twin steel cantilever bridge of the Crescent City Connection that offers a panoramic view of the Mississippi River, the Cathedral of Saint Louis, the oldest and largest cathedral in the United States, and The Spotted Cat Music Club where you can indulge in the soothing sounds of jazz, funk, and blues.
As the many streetlights replace the sun, the city of New Orleans is seen in a different light. Experience the extravagance of nightlife in the French Quarter, right at the heart of the city. The district was established in the early 18th Century and is a prominent landmark filled with architectural charm and busy streets that are buzzing with locals and tourists in restaurants, bars, clubs, and restaurants. A must-visit in the area is Rue Bourbon Street where bars like Jean Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop, the Fritzel’s European Jazz Club, the Old Absinthe House, and the Lafitte-In-Exile Gay Bar are located.
For other festivities, enjoy a carriage ride as you cruise along Jackson Square, where most of the traditional French houses are situated. Dine on Muffuletas, Beignets, French doughnuts, and shop for different local and fresh produce as well as authentic handmade products in the French Market.
Wherever you are and whatever your preferred Yuletide celebration is, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for a whole year of avid and overwhelming support and love. From the whole LaIsla Team, we greet you a Merry and bountiful Christmas!
